Nancy M. Thompson CVT has been working in the veterinary field since she was 15. A 1992 graduate from Becker College with a degree in veterinary technology she has had wide experience in all aspects of the field. Working with everything from large animals, dogs, cats, exotic pets, and even wildlife. She finally found her true calling of teaching with an interest in oncology and has been working at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine for 8 years. Nancy met “Bobbie” in March of 2000 and after she passed away founded The Bobbie Project with Co-Founder Shawn Conley.
Some of Nancy’s favorite past times include spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, reading, spoiling her pets, photography and K-9 training. She is owned by 1 beagle “Theodore” and 3 cats “Bob” “By-Crieky” and “Rain”
Shawn Conley
Deputy, Worcester County Sheriff’s Department
Deputy Sheriff Shawn R. Conley has been working for the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years. Eight of those years has been with the bloodhound K-9 unit. He also works as a part time Police officer for the Sutton Police Department. Shawn is a member and on the board of trustees for the National Police Bloodhound Association.
Throughout his career as a K9 officer, Deputy Conley has had three working bloodhounds as partners. K-9 partner Bobbie, for whom this project was named, K-9 Duke and K-9 Hope, both of whom he currently works.
Shawn started out with Bloodhounds because of their short supply in the New England area and the bloodhound’s keen trailing abilities. Shawn’s dedication to help people has really shown through by answering calls at all hours of the day and night, in all kinds of weather. He spends countless hours of his free time devoted to vigorous K-9 training, challenging himself and his bloodhound partners with all sorts of scenarios.
When Shawn isn’t working he enjoys riding his Harley with his wife Sue, He is an active member of the Nam-Knights of America. He also enjoys fly-fishing.
